About
Our elementary school, located in the Interior of Alaska near the town of North Pole, was built in 1987 and has an enrollment of about 460 preschool through fifth grade students with 75 full-time and part-time staff members. We are named after the outstanding Alaska Native educator Emily "Ticasuk" Ivanoff Brown, who did much to preserve traditional Alaska Native languages and culture in our state. Emily's Alaska Native name, Ticasuk, means:
"Where the four winds gather their treasures from all parts of the world . . . the greatest of which is knowledge."
